A bit more than two years ago I ran an experiment, before coding agents were really a thing, could ChatGPT write an app?

And yes it could.

At the time, it took a lot of back and forth, with a knowlegde cutoff at April 2023, it was missing a lot of things, but we managed. And that's how TileSwap was born and published.

Fast forward two years, and I’m pretty sure I could give a single prompt to Codex or Claude Code and have it one-shot the whole thing (I haven’t tried 😅).

Anyway, it was a nice and fun experiment, but time to move on.
